About the London Regional Partnership
The core purpose of London Regional Partnership is to
> bring partners together on a volutary basis to enable the sharing of best
practice regionally and nationally
> support the development and delivery of key areas of national policy
> work in partnership with the Government Office for London on the delivery
of regional priorities
> support the development of more inclusive policies and practices
The Partnership (which evolved from the former SEN Regional Partnership)
draws together a range of stakeholders. These include London authorities'
children' services, Association of London Directors of Children's Services
(ALDCS) London health agencies, Government Office for London, Care Service
Improvement Partnership, London Parent Partnership Officers, Association
of London Government (ALG) all of whom are represented on the Regional
Steering Group.
Further information about the regional partnerships can be found on the
DfES Teachernet website and the websites of individual regional partnerships
(see Links page). Priorities of the London Regional Partnership are set
out in the strategic
plan 2003-6.
Membership of the London Partnership is open to local authority officers and representatives from stakeholder groups. Working groups within the Partnership are open to any member who wishes to contribute to the work.
Within the Partnership there are five geographically based sub-regional
groups. During 2006-7 it is envisaged that the sub-regional
groups will develop into multi-agency children's services networks in each
of the five areas.
