National Contract

National contract for placement of children and young people in day and residential independent and non-maintained special schools

This contract has been prepared by  the National Association of Special Schools (NASS) and the LGA.  It is supported by DfES, DoH and ALDCS (formerly ADSS) and is recommended as the national contract for England.   The contract  builds on the pilot NASS/LGA Partnership Agreement launched in October 1999 and on other regional contracts. 

Local authorities are encouraged to use the contract when placing pupils in independent and non-maintained special schools.
